What's interesting, the HAMR tech was used in 1990s, and has been replaced by some other methods like helium-filled drive recording, shingled magnetic recording, and usage multiple readers - and now the company is coming back to its' roots, as they believe that the method in long-term will be the most efficient and capable one. Is 100 terabytes a lot? Well, it depends, actually.
