Co-founder of Oculus VR Leaves Facebook

For many, many years, Oculus Rift VR headset was a king of the virtual reality market, being not only the first modern virtual reality visor available for commercial use, but also a reliable option for VR games, VR movies and VR porn videos. In July of 2014, Facebook, the company owned by Mark Zuckerberg, has paid $2 billion for the Oculus VR company, introducing the firm into the new, brighter future and providing it with a whole lot of entirely new financial capabilities - and with the introduction of new VR goggles like Oculus Go and Oculus Quest, you can certainly say that they have succeeded in doing that. But even though Oculus was supposed to lead the VR market and flourish in Facebook's hand, today we learn that Brendan Iribe, one of the original co-founders and the previous CEO of the Oculus VR company has left Facebook. Could it mean that this social media platform will take a step back in their support for virtual reality? No more Oculus' VR headsets for VR porn movies? Let's talk about that. According to the Tech Crunch website citing anonymous sources, the reason for this decision is the lack of a shared vision regarding the development of virtual reality goggles from the Rift series. For the past two years, Iribe has led a group focused on PC solutions, responsible for for working on the second generation of Oculus Rift goggles - and we have all waited impatiently for Oculus Rift 2 and another revolution for our VR porn films. However, the Oculus Rift 2 model awaited by VR fans may never be shown, because Facebook's top management apparently no longer depends on the production of expensive equipment for demanding customers. Instead, the company plans to focus on mobile headsets, such as the recently announced Oculus Quest, which does not require a suitably efficient computer to operate. In a published statement, Brendan thanked his colleagues for the last six "amazing" years: "I'm deeply proud and grateful for all that we've done together. We assembled one of the greatest research and engineering teams in history, delivered the first step of true virtual presence with Oculus Rift and Touch, and inspired an entirely new industry. We started a revolution that will change the world in ways we can't even envision. (...) I'd like to sincerely thank everyone that's been a part of this amazing journey, especially Mark for believing in this team and the future of VR and AR."

Nate Mitchell, another co-founder of Oculus, referred to this entire situation, trying to calm all the Oculus' fans down. He published a tweet in which he ensures that the Rift / PC platform is constantly developed both hardware and software, saying that we will find out more about that in the coming months. Should we listen to Mitchell and trust that we will sooner or later see new Oculus Rift 2 VR goggles for VR porn movies? Or maybe it's over of PC Oculus' VR visors? We'll see about that.
