"Deckard" – New Standalone VR Headset for VR Porn from Valve is Coming!
According to a tech YouTuber, Bradley Lynch, and his data mining skills, Valve is preparing a standalone VR headset – and, what is even more important, editors from Ars Technica confirm it! Why is that so important? Simply because such a VR headset would have been great for VR porn movies – as we are telling you pretty much every single time, when we are talking about VR goggles, standalone devices are much better when it comes to the comfort of longer sessions with virtual reality sex, and that is why we are always seeking for new options for this kind of hardware!
Even though Valve has its Valve Index VR goggles, the device is not standalone – and although it is great, and could display your favorite 8K ultra-high-definition VR sex scenes, it is not the greatest pick when it comes to your comfort. This could have been changed now: the new VR headset is reportedly codenamed “Deckard”, the surname of Blade Runner’s protagonist and a possible reference to Valve’s Steam Deck handheld PC.
On his channel, SadlyItsBradley, Lynch reveals that the Deckard codename was present in a Lighthouse (Valve’s positional tracking technology) driver file and a SteamVR input driver. The input driver apparently added references to “Deckard POC-A” in January of this year and “Deckard POC-C” in June, with POC likely standing for Proof of Concept. It does not mean much just yet, but it is still giving us some hopes for this brand-new virtual reality porn device.
During his data mining, the YouTuber found a “Standalone System Layer” option in the hidden "Valve Internal" menu tab of SteamVR – as well as a Linux-only binary referencing Deckard which he says tells the device to boot to a default application. A further reference to “Dual Tracking Mode” suggests the VR headset could have inside-out tracking while optionally supporting Lighthouse – and we have mentioned this tracking technology multiple times in your previous blogs, as it refers to one of the best hopes for interactive VR sex games, possibly taking our second website Dezyred to an entirely new level.
We would not pay too much attention to all these reports, if not the fact that Ars Technica confirms that Valve had at least two VR headset concepts in the works which diverged over time, with one requiring a PC and tracking base stations but the other (presumably Deckard) operating standalone with onboard compute like Oculus Quest. This means that this is not just a stupid rumor from data mining, but a legitimate fact that could sooner or later turn out to be a brand-new king of standalone VR goggles for VR porn (right now this slot is being taken by Oculus Quest 2).
VR Bangers promise you that we will stay up to date with this topic and as soon as we will find something new about this possibly incoming brand-new VR device, we will tell you about it right away – do not forget to keep on checking our main page (here) as often as possible to always be informed about all these VR sex novelties!
