White OLED with color filter structure was used for high-density pixelization, an n-type LTPS backplane was chosen for higher electron mobility compared to mobile phone displays, and a custom high bandwidth driver IC was fabricated - and all of that just to enable the creation of such a VR visor. First of all, we're talking about whole 18 megapixels ladies and gentleman, which combined to some previous popular choices like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive is a huge upgrade in terms of the quality. How big is the difference? It's really enormous, as the aforementioned visors offer a resolution of 1,2 megapixels per eye - so now we're talking about something almost 10 times as detailed!
