HTC Vive Flow – New VR Headset for Netflix, Meditation, and… VR Porn?

Have you heard about the latest VR porn headset that could be possibly a great option for VR porn movies? As previously speculated, the Vive Flow is based on Project Proton – HTC's idea for a slim VR headset. The device resembles glasses with very thick lenses and weighs just 189 g. The frames have two hinges, one that helps you move the device to fit different head sizes, and another that allows you to fold them like regular glasses.

Technically, this is not a standalone headset as it needs to be connected to an external power source. The device comes with a small battery, but HTC stresses that it is only meant to power the glasses so that the user has time to plug them into another source. Two cameras on the front provide 6-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) position tracking.

HTC sees the Vive Flow less like a gaming device and more as a goggle for media consumption and experiences – that is why we consider it a solid choice for VR porn scenes, too. To that end, users connect the device to an Android smartphone to use it as a 3DOF controller and use it to view content inside VR. Native apps are also available, and the company has introduced meditation experiences such as TRIPP and Nature Treks VR. HTC also plans to introduce hand tracking in the future, but it will not be available when the device is released, iPhones will not be supported, and when it comes to us, VR Bangers, we are already considering offering this VR headset support of our own VR porn player – PLAY'A.

Specifications for the Flow device include 1.6K resolution per eye, a 100-degree field of view, and a 75 Hz refresh rate. HTC has not revealed exactly what processor the device uses, though certainly do not expect the same performance as the Oculus Quest 2. The lenses have diopter dials so you can twist them to get the visual acuity you want. The frames have a built-in audio solution and two microphones, and there is active cooling on the front of the device – in other words, though, this is all we need for our VR porn videos.

Pre-orders for the Vive Flow have started on the official site, and the device costs $499. The devices will ship in early November, and those who pre-order will receive a protective case for free, as well as seven other extras, though it was not revealed exactly.
