Magic Leap Starts Selling Their MR Goggles

You remember it or not, but some time ago we have told you about the Magic Leap MR (mixed reality) headset confirmed at the Game Developers Conference 2018 with plenty of modern features that have not been yet released in any other set of VR goggles. Aforementioned MR visor was supposed to have features like head tracking, eye tracking, gestures and hand tracking, room scanning and meshing, spatialized audio, additional microphone input, 6DoF hand controller called totem, Vulkan and OpenGL support and usage of Unreal Engine 4’s desktop and mobile forward rendering paths. The goggles which were supposed to be a true revolution of the entire technology used for watching VR porn videos... are finally coming, as their makers have at last gave us some news about the release date! Magic Leap was called the most mysterious startup in the world. For a long time nothing was known about the progress of work and, above all, when their effects will be seen by customers. The company, however, aroused great interest and urged investors to invest in it powerful money. In total, they raised $ 2.3 billion, including such giants as Google, Warner Bros., JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Alibaba. The company is now announcing that by the end of summer it will start selling goggles to the so-called mixed reality (that is, those that allow you to see digital, three-dimensional objects superimposed on the real world). On the occasion of the last blog, we have already told you about how cool would it be to have such a solution to introduce the MR porn videos - it would be like bringing VR porn movies into reality (this time for real!).

It turns out that a portable LightPack computer with a performance similar to a laptop that will be connected to the glasses using two cables will have a new Nvidia module - Tegra X2 on board. It includes a quad-core ARM A57 processor, a dual-core Denver 2 processor, and a graphics processor based on NVIDIA Pascal with 256 CUDA cores. It is a new generation of a computing unit used by, among others, Nintendo Switch (Tegra X1). It is not known how much it will cost, or what software, games (or maybe even VR porn videos?) will be offered in the set. Four months ago, on the occasion of a public appearance, the company's CEO said that the cheapest version of the product will be similar to the price you have to pay for a smartphone or high-end tablet. He also suggested that premium products with better goggles should also be available for sale. What do we think about all of that? We would love to be part of this entire initiative for sure, as we believe that just like in the case of MR games or MR videos, MR porn movies could be a great hit and we can't wait to produce them one day!
