PS VR2 is already available for purchase, and you can buy the kit off the shelf since its release. Unfortunately, while it has a ton of advantages and is great for the virtual reality porn experiences, it's more expensive than the PlayStation 5 (which is required for it to work) and has two drawbacks, both related to cables. One is the non-replaceable cable that connects the virtual reality goggles to the console, and the other is the need to charge the Sony PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers with USB-C cables. Nothing can be done about the first one, but the charging station eliminates the latter.
Just watching VR porn movies requires more effort on the part of the user than firing up flat-screen porno on a TV, and there's nothing worse than seeing a message after adjusting the VR goggles that session will not be possible due to a discharged controller. On the other hand, after taking the PlayStation VR2 off the head, the last thing a viewer who has been satisfied with high-quality VR sex scenes or interactive VR xxx games feels like doing is plugging in the cables to the pads.
PS VR2 Sense Controller Charging Station Does the Job!
Unfortunately, although the PS VR2 goggles cost as much as $550, you have to buy one separately for $49. So much for the good that Sony thought to make a charging station at all, along the lines of the one for the DualSense pads, and it's stylistically consistent with other PS5 accessories. At the same time, the gadget is much heavier than you might think – and a very good thing, because that way it doesn't fly around on the TV cabinet when you put the controllers on and off it.
Moreover, for the charging station, you need an additional socket, as the charger cannot be plugged into the USB port on the back of the console. On the other hand, if someone just cares about freeing it up, they'll be happy to know that they don't have to pay for an additional mains charger to use the accessory. Aside from that, the kit came with small contraptions with connectors that match the cradle, which plugs into the USB-C slots on the Sense controllers for the PlayStation VR2.
So What's the Problem (Besides the High Price)?
The thing is that the Sony PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging accessory is not easy to get. More than a week after the release of the PlayStation VR2, offers have fortunately already begun to appear, promising delivery of the charging station in a week, and for more than the recommended amount – in as little as an hour to your living room. However, if you already have PlayStation VR2 goggles or are planning to buy one, for the sake of your sessions with VR sex experiences we highly recommend you think about buying this accessory right away… or something similar.
On the web, you can already find offers for replacement controller charging stations for PS VR2, which work on a similar principle to the official Sony accessory. On top of that, some models may have additional goggle holders, Sony Pulse 3D headphones, DualSense controllers, and even a PS5 console stand. The selection is quite large, although even here there is sometimes a problem with delivery times. Time is calculated in weeks, not days, if the product has to arrive first from China.
The Second Disadvantage of the PlayStation VR 2 Remains
Sony has decided to make the new goggles connect to the PlayStation 5 console not wirelessly, as some competing products can do, but with a cable. Admittedly, the new model features a single cable with a USB-C connector, which no longer requires a module plugged in between the console and TV, as was the case with the first PS VR, but still, from the perspective of an Oculus Quest 2 kit owner, this cable in the PlayStation VR2 is a step backward – and we all know that standalone VR headsets are best for VR porn movies.
After the official announcement of the PS VR2, one might have hoped that there would be an official accessory that consists of two aligned wireless modules: one that plugs into the console and another with a rechargeable battery in place of the cable. Something like that would get rid of this limitation. Unfortunately, we are unlikely to count on such a thing. The cable in the new virtual reality goggles from Sony is fixed. It cannot be removed without aggressing the warranty.
We are left to hope that some company will manage to prepare an accessory that would eliminate the need to plug the goggles into the console with a cable – even if it does not officially come from Sony. Such a hypothetical gadget could consist of one wireless module plugged into the PS5 and another with a built-in power bank, into which the USB-C end sticking out of the goggles could be plugged and, together with the coiled rest of the cable, tucked behind the belt.
