New "Daydream Ready" Smartphones for VR Porn

Even though the Made by Google event has just recently taken place (and naturally we told you about it), from the point of view of a professional VR porn movies' producer, like Virtual Reality Bangers, barely anything interesting has happened on that day (October 9th) in New York when thinking about VR porn films - at least we thought that for last couple of days, but it seems that in the end we have been all wrong and there is indeed something to talk about. Apart from new convertible Pixel Slate laptop and newest Google Home Hub home assistant, the company has shared their new smartphones with us: the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have been officially announced. Such devices are never on top of the list of the most important technologies for virtual reality producers (just like newest Apple's phones), yet since this time we are talking about Google, new Pixels mean new options for the widely known Daydream platform - especially that they have been just officially confirmed to be "Daydream compatible".

What is the specification of those new phones?

New Pixel smartphones are made of aluminium and temped glass, with backs made entirely of pure glass. Cheaper model is equipped with a classic OLED 18:9 screen of 5.5 inches, and the larger one (the XL version) is 6.3 inch big of an OLED screen with a notch. Naturally, as this is a standard these days, both phones have fingerprint readers on their backs. Phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, have 4 GB or ram memory and from 64 to 128 GB of space for data - which, unfortunately, cannot be extended by a memory card, being a notable issue for 6K UHD VR porn movies, as those are quite "heavy" and could really use some extra space.

So what are they capable of?

Even though, apart from things mentioned above, the phones are capable of some really cool things like wireless charging, incredibly wide range of FOV (field of view) and not one but two 8 Mpix cameras, these are not the things that matter the most for us, VR porn movies' makers. The thing is, as aforementioned, that both of them have just been officially confirmed to be Daydream compatible, meaning that they should work flawlessly with both 2016 and 2017 Daydream View goggles - and hence making them capable of displaying some VR porn videos.

But what does that mean for VR porn movies?

Google Daydream and Google Cardboard have always been very promising (and primarily really cheap) solutions for people looking to watch some VR porn films without spending a fortune.
