PlayStation VR 2's Price Looks Tragicomic

A couple of weeks ago we told you that PS VR 2 could be a great option for both VR porn movies and virtual reality games – yet today we don't have such great news, anymore. These VR goggles are getting less and less secretive, which means that we're getting to know more and more about their future uses – including their strong and weak sides in the context of our favorite virtual reality sex scenes. The hardware may be promising, but its price tag no longer looks enticing – which could be a huge "cockblock" for a lot of VR porn viewers. PlayStation VR 2 Pricing Revealed

Sony revealed a few days ago that the recommended prices for PlayStation VR 2 headsets will start at $550 – which is a price that's incredibly close to the price of the PlayStation 5 console itself (and not to mention that it is sold more expensively in many markets). It's not gonna be cheap, as demonstrated just a few days ago by the pricing of the DualSense Edge controller – that is, the modern version of the controller, for which Sony charged an incredible $199.99.

Oh, and we are talking about the basic version of the PlayStation VR 2 because there will also be even more expensive ones. For example, for a set with the Horizon game Call of the Mountain, those interested will have to pay $599.99. Separately, the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller dock will be sold, priced at $49.99 – and so on. As you can see, those prices are much higher than those offered by, for example, the latest VR goggles from Oculus – which could be a huge drawback for everyone who's looking for a solid option for VR porn movies and isn't really interested in VR gaming that much.

When Will the PS VR 2 Be Released?

Initially, it seemed that the PlayStation VR 2 would enter the market later this year. However, that won't be the case, and recently Sony talked about early 2023. It now looks like that date will be met. As specified, the PlayStation VR 2 will debut in major markets on February 22, 2023. Those most interested in the device will be able to take advantage of pre-orders starting November 15 – which means that most likely you're gonna be able to enjoy our premium VR sex scenes with the use of these VR goggles still before Christmas.

Specifications and Games for the PlayStation VR 2

Any gaming hardware does not exist without dedicated titles for it. Sony fared poorly in this regard at the launch of the PlayStation 5, here the situation is expected to look much better. The Japanese manufacturer promises that more than twenty games will be available on the day of the PlayStation VR 2 launch.

Of course, quantity should go hand in hand with quality. This is yet to be verified, but we can see some proposals that may indeed be tempting. In addition to the aforementioned Horizon Call of the Mountain, work on Crossfire: Sierra Squad, The Light Brigade, No Man's Sky, The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR from Supermassive Games, or Resident Evil Village is heavily emphasized. Only that the full set being prepared for the release has not yet been announced, and it will be interesting to see how many of these best-looking titles will be assigned there.

And what will the hardware itself hide? This is something Sony has talked about quite a bit before. Recall that the PlayStation VR 2 is OLED technology and has a resolution of 2000 x 2040 per eye, as well as a field of view of about 110 degrees and technology responsible for eye tracking. The manufacturer also mentions four built-in cameras for goggles and controller tracking (also with news) and 3D sound. PlayStation VR 2 is supposed to be truly next-gen hardware – and may it actually be, especially for this kind of money.
