PlayStation VR2 Pre-orders Reportedly Disappoint
The new virtual reality launch from Sony has so far not been a success. The number of pre-orders for the PlayStation VR2 is currently lower than expected. For this reason, the availability of the device on the release date (February 22, 2023) has been reduced from about two million to one million units (via Bloomberg). This does not imply the end of the distribution of this VR headset anytime soon, though, as plans are in place to regularly check demand and adjust to product demand. Sony plans to prepare an additional 1.5 million units between April 2023 and March 2024. What does that mean for fans of VR porn scenes? Well, it depends – we'll get back to that question in a separate paragraph below.
Sony Has Few Customers for VR
Interestingly, an analysis by the International Data Corporation (a market research and analysis firm with an emphasis on the technology sector) came out that the predecessor to the new set known as PS VR has so far not even taken 1% of the market among virtual reality devices. The leader is Meta with almost 85% of the market. Sony is not even among the top five most popular manufacturers of VR goggles, which could be a reason for the abovementioned problems. Although, when it comes to our VR sex experiences, we must admit that according to our data, a lot of you used PS VR to enjoy VR porn – and we're expecting to have plenty of customers using PS VR 2 in the future.
Among the other reasons for the low number of pre-orders placed since last November are the high price, the initial limitation of the customer base (an invitation was required), an insufficient number of games designed for this VR headset, or compatibility only with the PlayStation 5 console, which has far fewer users than the PS4. From our point of view, most of these issues could be solved proactively, and it feels like Sony made a couple of really bad decisions before the release.
Is This a Cause for Concern for Fans of VR Porn Movies?
To be honest, quite the opposite! The success of VR gaming goggles doesn't matter too much from our point of view, and although we know that many of you love to spend time with virtual reality games during breaks from watching VR sex scenes, this factor doesn't directly affect our production and/or successes – if at all, in a positive way!
What do we mean by this? Well, if the PS VR 2 doesn't become a huge success among gamers, its price will drop – yet nothing will change the fact that it's still a great VR headset for high-quality VR xxx experiences! Maybe this will give every VRBangers.com fan the opportunity to purchase it at a lower price and take advantage of this technological leap without spending thousands of dollars. We can't wait to see how this situation develops further! Let's just hope Sony doesn't actually reduce the number of VR devices in circulation, because that could actually hurt us.
