Brands Present High PPI Screens for VR Porn

According to scientists, the human eye registers the image in a resolution close to 9600 x 9000 px, with a pixel density per one inch of 2183 ppi. What's more, the field of view (so-called FOV) is determined at the level of 160 x 150 degrees. Meanwhile, the most popular PC VR goggles on the market today have a resolution of 1080 x 1200 pixels per eye, with a density of 461 ppi and a field of view range of around 110 degrees. It is not enough to deceive our brain and achieve full immersion in this matter, and if we'd only had some better technology, we could simply enjoy the VR porn videos in a much satisfying way - especially that VR Bangers have recently started publishing our VR porn movies at 6K ultra high definition! The SID Display Week 2018 in Los Angeles with the largest display manufacturers taking part in the event has brought us several prototype screens created for virtual reality goggles. The presented solutions are still missing a lot to the limits of human sight, but we are witnessing another important step in this direction - possibly being closer to some new VR porn sensations than ever before. For example, Google and LG presented 18-megapixel, 4.3-inch OLED display dedicated to VR headsets with a density of 1443 pixels per inch and a total resolution of 4800 × 3840 px. The manufacturers of this solution indicate that with the current level of technology, goggles equipped with such screens would have to use the "foveated rendering" technology limiting the rendering of the scene to the area on which the head user looks. In addition, if this display is used in mobile goggles, its maximum refresh rate, which is declared at 120 Hz, would have to be reduced to 75 Hz - it's a price worth paying for some super high-quality VR porn videos, isn't it?

Samsung's solution is also interesting. Koreans presented a 2.43-inch screen with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 px / 120Hz at the fair. Its creators managed to achieve a pixel density of 1200 ppi. On the other hand, Japan Display Inc., a company founded on the initiative of Sony, Hitachi and Toshiba, brought to Los Angeles a 3.25-inch TFT LCD (LTPS) display with a pixel density of 1001 ppi. It has a resolution of 2160 × 2432 px and operates at a frequency of 120 Hz. According to JDI, entities interested in using screens in their devices will be able to purchase them before the end of March next year.
