We Know Specs of a Great VR Headset for VR Porn – Pico Neo 3!

If you are reading VR Bangers' blog regularly, then you must know something about the Beijing-based company called Pico Interactive. These producers of VR devices are in the top percentile of the Chinese market for standalone VR goggles and one of their VR goggles has been mentioned in our comparison of standalone VR headsets best for VR porn some time ago. Last year we have also mentioned new versions of 3DoF VR headsets from Pico – yet since we have been pretty quiet about the hardware from this manufacturer, it was about time for us to speak up and share with you some latest news from Pico. Last week it has been announced that Neo 3 – their newest model – will be shipped to consumers in Asia starting May 10th, 2021, sometime after being sent also to enterprise users in the West. On top of that, the company has revealed more of the headset alongside showing a few basic specs – and since we believe that the new model of Pico Neo 3 might be a great choice for high-definition VR porn movies, we just had to share these with you. For now, we have been told that Pico Neo 3 will include:

• • Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset – the same chipset inside Oculus Quest 2;
• • WiFi 6 antenna (really important for high-quality VR porn scenes);
• • Optical controllers with embedded tracking sensors;
• • Three physical IPD adjustments;
• • Four wide-angle cameras providing “millimeter-level” positioning and tracking;
• • Curved screen clocked at 90Hz refresh (which is a must for our virtual reality porn experiences in high FPS);
• • Four optical sensors and a new Oculus Touch-like controller;
• • Support for 6DOF VR apps and games – the company has already stocked its Pico Store with around 400 apps, which include a number of fan favorites localized for Chinese consumption such as Superhot VR, Apex Construct, Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, and Racket: Nx.

The headset will be launched at a special event taking place on May 10th at the Beijing National Aquatics Center, also known as "Water Cube." The company says its enterprise version for outside of Asia is slated to release sometime in summer 2021. As for the West, Pico is still focusing on serving enterprise clients and B2B with Neo 3, which makes sense since there are very few companies up to the task of undercutting the successful Oculus Quest platform vis-à-vis Facebook. It is important to note that China-based consumers can’t purchase Oculus devices as Facebook is banned in that country, which makes for an interesting state of affairs. Pico Interactive has been armed with a fresh B and B+ funding round though, amounting to around $67M, so there is no telling what inroads Pico will make outside of Asia in the future.
