What Lies Ahead for Virtual Reality in 2023?
2022 was not only one of the best years to date for fans of professional VR porn movies but also one of the most significant years for the development of virtual reality technology. Many new manufacturers have taken an interest in this technology sector, popular VR headsets have received numerous updates and new versions, and there is a whole host of great new products and advanced technology on the horizon that everyone will soon be able to use.
While we could go on for hours about all the wonderful things that have come to us in the past few months, there is no need to dwell on the past and it is better to look with optimistic eyes at all that is yet to come. That's why we've decided to briefly discuss all those new developments that await the world of virtual reality technology – which, at the same time, means that they will have an impact on our universe of premium VR sex videos!
PlayStation VR 2? Yeah, It's Almost Here!
Back in 2016, Sony launched the PlayStation VR and over the years they've sold more than six million PS VR headsets. By 2023, it will only be a 'last generation' headset – this is because the company launched the original version of the headset more than six years ago. Fortunately, we're all getting a major update from this company, as Sony's launch of the PSVR 2 in February 2023 will be one of the most significant events for the VR industry.
Sony's announcement of the PSVR 2 launch feels like a re-entry into the VR market, rather than a continuation of its previous efforts. The company is introducing new exclusive content, but it's also taking an extended break between hardware releases. This decision doesn't bode well for the future of the headset. Sony's first-party PSVR games are still some of the best in the industry – many of these games have been improved and updated for PSVR 2. Ideally, it would be great to see these games updated for PSVR 2, and for Sony to have its first-party studios focus on creating more VR content, perhaps including VR porn videos.
On the other hand, though, as only people who already own a PS5 can use the PSVR 2 headset, its competition with Meta is not that certain.
Don't Forget About Apple, Though!
Rumors suggest that Apple is working hard on a product. No one knows when the company will release its product or even announce its existence, which doesn't change the fact that the biggest elephant in the room at the moment is Apple, so you can't leave that without a comment.
Apple can disrupt Meta's business by creating an XR headset with a smooth user experience. Their efforts would go further than any other company in the world in creating the metaverse social media site and the VR industry as a whole. The company's entry into the XR space will have an immediate and far-reaching impact on the entire scene – we can't wait to see how it's gonna go and whether the firm will give us some new options for our VR sex scenes!
New (and Real) Competitors for Meta!
In the future, HTC and Pico could provide some real competition. The Vive XR Elite is significantly cheaper than the Quest Pro – both versions are designed to compete with Meta's latest product, which offers similar features at a higher price. The Vive XR Elite appears to be at least somewhat competitive, offering improved pass-through augmented reality capabilities at a lower price.
Moreover, Meta recently launched the Quest 2 headset. It's the first budget headset to compete with Pico's new Neo 4 – priced at €20 or €50 less than Quest 2 (depending upon storage capacity), and looks like a real alternative. Since Meta only sells its headsets in the US, it seems that the Neo 4 is the real competitor to the Quest 2.
On the other hand, though, both the Vive XR Elite and the Pico Neo 4 suffer from the same problem – they lack content – which doesn't change the fact that they could both act just great for our VR sex experiences!
End of the PC VR Headsets Era?
At the moment, PC virtual reality platforms only exist because of a dedicated fan base that needs more immersive experiences. They also need the next generation of VR content that isn't being developed for other platforms. As the focus shifts to standalone VR, PC VR will be stuck with older content created for other platforms.
In addition to small-scale projects from VR enthusiast indie developers, regular releases of VR-optional flight or racing sims are keeping PC VR alive. And from the VR modding scene and other content, people see the death of PC VR in 2023.
With the upcoming release of new headsets, there's a lack of next-generation content to justify upgrading your current PC VR setup. This is because the majority of PC VR headsets released so far lack specialized accessories that push the boundaries of immersion. These include racing and cockpit peripherals, full-body trackers, haptic vests, and weapon stocks. In addition, some unannounced headsets may appear in 2023. We're not so sure about that, though, and we'll definitely keep you posted at VRBangers.com as soon as we're gonna learn something new!
