Prototype VR Controller with Dynamic Weight Control! New Opportunities for VR Porn?

Are you an owner of some VR controllers and have been using them for “touching” stuff in virtual reality? And how was it? Did you like it? Ability of grabbing and moving stuff in the VR is something that became relatively popular amongst some modern VR headsets, yet it has a huge flaw that seems to be an obstacle impossible to get around – at least until today – it doesn’t feel too real, and you know well that reality and lifelikeness are really important factors when it comes to VR porn videos.

Let’s be fair, wielding a real controller that matches the weight and feel of a virtual object is far more immersive than having a disconnect between these two things. The problem is that if a controller is made to fit a specific role, it stops being universal and it’s less useful for interacting with a wider range of virtual objects. Brand new prototype based on an HTC Vive controller attempts to solve this problem, allowing the pad to redistribute its weight in the middle of using it. The idea is still in a testing phase, yet it brings some huge hopes and maybe one day it’ll help us to create some “transforming” controllers for VR porn videos?

Nyoibo, an aforementioned prototype created by a Madrid-based VR developer named Manuel Rosado uses a series of interconnected servos to redistribute its’ own to more accurately match the currently held object. For now, the device is created mostly for playing some VR games, giving it an ability to e.g. emulate the kick of shooting a gun, yet in the future it may be as well used for many more uses – including those related to virtual reality porn videos.

Below video is showing the prototype in action, presenting the controller’s various shapes, corresponding to a smaller gun like a mini uzi, a larger gun like an AK, and even a blade.

Naturally, the total weight of the controller doesn’t change (it wouldn’t be physically possible, would it?), yet its’ center of gravity (and thus moment of inertia) does, which goes a long way to altering your perception of the held object’s shape. For now the Nyoibo controller is well demonstrated for use with various weapons, yet it’s really easy to imagine how the concept could apply more broadly to “fake” other items like sports equipment, tools and maybe, as mentioned above, some sexual toys for the VR porn experiences.

Communicating weight and shape of objects in VR is a big challenge, and this issue is approached from several angles by Rosado, showing us yet another possible potentials of such devices. Works on the similar prototype for Oculus Touch controllers are already on the go, and the young developer is actively trying to update his device – just look to above video from Twitter to observe a slightly more refined prototype. We can only keep our fingers crossed for this young creator, and maybe with yet another version… We can only have our hopes kept in order to explore some new feelings in our VR porn films.
