Review of HP Reverb G2 – Another Great VR Headset for VR Porn!

HP Reverb G2 promo view

Meet the HP Reverb G2 – an uncompromising virtual reality headset that features realistic visuals and incredibly deep sound space. It also has excellent tracking capabilities and great performance, making it a groundbreaking device that is the new standard in virtual reality. The Reverb G2 headset was created through HP's collaboration with Valve and Microsoft, delivering an even better experience compared to its predecessor, the Reverb G1. The ergonomic design of the HP Reverb G2 headset provides excellent comfort during use, and since we, VR Bangers, have only mentioned this VR headset once (here) before – and we believe that it is a great option for requiring users of VR hardware and connoisseurs of high-quality VR porn movies – it was about time for us to provide a full-spectrum review of this amazing pair of VR goggles! Especially that we plan on adding support for this VR kit for our virtual reality porn movies and our amazing VR porn player, PLAY'A. Note: you can still use them for VR Bangers' VR porn as we speak, even though there is no instruction for their usage on our "How to watch?" subpage.

The Overview

HP Reverb G2 promo view full The goggles feature the same resolution, same refresh rate, and same field of view as the first-generation HP Reverb. However, they have new lenses, more tracking cameras (for high precision), an audio system provided by Valve, and a redesigned controller. Below you can read their technical capabilities as long as we provide you with a more complex roundup of all their features and capabilities.

Here is a look at the specifications of the HP Reverb G2 goggles:

Displays: 2 x 2.89", LCD Resolution: 2160 x 2160 px per eye Refresh rate: 90 Hz Field of view: 114 degrees Cameras: 4 units, providing 6 degrees of freedom Lenses: provided by Valve Speakers: provided by Valve Microphone: dual Connection: 6-meter cable

Display and Lenses

The resolution has not been increased and is 2160 x 2160 pixels per eye, but there was no need for that either because it is still first class and one of the reasons why you should bet just on Reverb. By comparison, HTC Vive Pro, Oculus Quest, or Valve Index all offer 1600 x 1440 pixels. For the sake of accuracy, it should be added that they have a higher refresh rate and a wider field of view. How important is that? You tell us! If you are using your VR goggles for watching a lot of VR porn videos, you definitely know the answer and can appreciate this feature for the comfort of immersion achieved during your longer sessions with virtual reality porn. Moreover – which is pretty impressive – Reverb G2 is the first headset in its class where the screen door effect (the unlit spaces between pixels) is virtually gone. Try as you might, the black grid between pixels that is visible on most other headsets just is not discernable. That is a critical threshold to cross as pretty much every headset in this class to date has had some level of visible screen door effect. The lack of screen door and impressive sharpness makes everything in the headset look more solid and real, in a way that is difficult to articulate. The extra sharpness also makes the sense of stereoscopic depth clearer in a way that seems more convincing to the brain.

Controllers

HP Reverb G2 controllers Additional tracking cameras should positively affect the precision of the goggles (which in the first generation were slight problems), but the most important innovation, however, is still the redesigned controllers. They are somewhat reminiscent of the Oculus Touch design with two buttons on the front. More comfortable operation is what we expect from this change. The comfort of the wearable, on the other hand, is to be maintained and that will be enough. Though they share the same tracking ring as the originals, they are otherwise mostly mimic the Oculus Touch controllers with a thumbstick, two large face buttons, two small menu buttons, an index trigger, and a grab trigger. Compared to the original WMR controllers, they are not only more ergonomic but are also easier in modern VR apps which are often designed around thumbsticks and a "continuous hold" approach for grabbing objects, both of which work better on the new controllers than the old. Are controllers so important in terms of VR porn scenes? Not really. But, as we are stating in this entire article, these VR goggles are not for VR porn scenes only – they are a more expensive option for people who want to enjoy VR sex in the highest quality, while at the same time being able to play some of the most popular virtual reality games!

Audio

Reverb G2 has adopted the "off-ear" audio approach of Valve Index – and not just the concept, but the exact same drivers. The off-ear headphones are great because they do not put any pressure on your ears while you play, nor do they get in the way when you put the headset on. While G2’s speakers feel like they pack the same big punch and wide range as the Index speakers, I did find that certain high frequencies would sound distorted. HP said it expected the G2 headphones to have the very same performance as the Index headphones, so hopefully, the distortion can be cleared up by post-launch EQ tweaks from HP. This is an amazing feature to truly enjoy VR porn videos and their binaural sound systems – we always believe that audio is almost as important as video and, perhaps you have noticed, we keep on updating and enhancing our VR porn scenes in terms of the quality of their audio effects! After all, who does not like a good, wild, loud moan of your favorite VR porn whore spreading all around your ears? Fuck yeah!

The Summary

Even though these VR goggles were originally designed for gaming, they turned out to be one of the best and versatile options for all the different things that you can do inside of virtual reality. We highly recommend using them for our VR porn movies and, naturally, they can easily run them in the highest possible resolutions – and we promise that really soon we will add fully-fledged support for them, giving you all yet another reason for getting them. With the price of $599, they are not for every pocket – but still if you are looking for something a little bit more "sophisticated", as well as a good option to play, for example, Half-Life: Alyx, you will definitely enjoy these VR goggles. We, VR Bangers, have managed to try them, we loved them, and we can really recommend them for all these more demanding users that use VR goggles for top-quality VR porn and more! If you value comfort over quality, you may still be looking for a pair standalone VR headset – just like, for example, the newest model of Oculus Quest 2 from Facebook, which is, according to us, the true king of VR goggles for virtual reality porn movies!
